Black Arrow is a fourty foot steel yacht that has made many Ocean Crossings. She has just completed a circumnavigation and will be returning to the UK from Turks and Caicos Islands in the Caribbean in Early April. There is an opportunity for anyone wishing to gain distance sailing and high quality sailing tuition from Simon Smith the Owner/Skipper.
From beginner to Ocean Yacht Master all are welcome , a sense of adventure and an ablility to get along with others are the main requirements. Any leg or combinations of legs are available - the route and dates are as follows but she is a sailing vessel so wind and weather will be factors to consider. The preliminary itinerary is as follows.
First or second week April Depart Providenciales (Turks and Caicos) for Bermuda 750 miles 6 or 7 days depending on weather 2 -3 days stop
Third or Fourth week April Passage to Azores - Faial 1800 miles 18 - 21 days with 3-4 day stop
Approx middle May leave for Europe - La Coruna N. Spain 960 miles 8-9 days 1-2 days
Third week May to UK with stop in Northern France arriving home port Lymington around start of June . Having completed voyage of 40,000+ miles in just under 3 years. All or anypart available contact Simon Smith via website:

This is the second time I have heard Roger and enjoyed his talk very much. He does the most amazing single handed sailing trips on such a small boat and goes where larger fully crewed boats would not dare to go. I read his first book and have bought his second one and am enjoying it as much as I did the first and I would highly recomend it to everyone.
